How to maintain a soccer ball

Soccer is a fun and exciting sport, beloved by many. However, every soccer enthusiast should know how to care for their soccer ball and soccer shoes to extend their lifespan. Today, we'll introduce some relevant soccer knowledge, including some precautions when playing soccer.

Every athlete knows that proper equipment maintenance is key to effective sports performance. Let's take a moment to learn about soccer ball care.

 1. Inflate the ball

Usually use water or soapy water

Before inserting the needle of the air pump, it's usually moistened with water or soapy water. A dry air pump needle can damage the ball bladder valve, causing air leakage.

 Inflate slowly

Inflate slowly, gradually inflating the ball. If a compressor or similar device is used to forcefully inject a large amount of air, the ball bladder valve will conflict with the needle stitches, causing the ball to burst.

 Follow inflation instructions

Over-inflation can cause the ball to deform or expand. Follow the pressure regulations indicated on the valve opening. Proper pressure regulation ensures your Molten ball is in optimal condition when needed.

 2. Check for leaks

 Clean with soapy water

Sand or dust entering the valve can easily lead to leaks. Regularly clean thoroughly with soapy water, and rinse well after cleaning.

 New ball leaks

Air may leak from the stitching during the first inflation. This is simply air from the manufacturing process that is trapped between the bladder and lining. This is perfectly normal and does not indicate a leak.

 3. After the game

 Release the air after use

Since the ball is often inflated before a game, the air should also be released after the game. Keeping the ball at high pressure when not in use will cause expansion and deformation.

 Brush the surface

After use, brush away any mud or sand from the ball's seams. Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth.

 4. Plastic balls also need maintenance

Plastic balls do not need to be deflated after use. However, be careful not to clean the surface with substances containing oils or solvents. These substances can seep into the seams of the leather, degrading the quality and causing the leather to peel.

Care and storage must follow the following methods

 (1) After use on a rainy day, wipe clean and air dry in a cool place.

 (2) Store the ball in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.

Keep the ball away from sharp objects, such as barbed wire, broken metal mesh, rose thorns, cacti, or anything else that could puncture the ball. Even small, imperceptible holes can cause leaks. Do not expose the ball to direct sunlight for extended periods. Keep the ball away from excessively hot or humid places. Do not use benzene to wipe the surface of the ball, whether it is natural or synthetic leather.
